Poquonock BridgeIn 1869, an iron bridge was built here by the Moseley Iron Bridge & Roof Co. of Boston, replacing the old covered bridge, which had been destroyed by fire. A second bridge was added to this for the trolley line, so that bridge really had two bridges in one! The trolley bridge was torn down before the rest of the bridge and in 1953, the concrete and steel bridge that we see today was erected. The angle of the bridge was completely changed to eliminate the steep, narrow road and the sharp curve that made a very risky approach to the bridge. © Windsor Historical Society.
